From the leading custom
desk frame manufacturer, Mode-AL introduces our first Standard
Editing Desk |
|
 |

 |
The new Standard Edit
Desk is a standardised solution derived from Mode-AL's custom
edit and production desks manufactured for the Broadcast
industry over the last 3 years. Introduced at NAB 2008 to
great acclaim, this desk has been designed as a standard
platform for all your editing needs.
With the superb cable management
within the basic desk frame and exceedingly quiet operation
of the table top and screen height adjustable motors (all
controlled via USB link to your Mac or PC (available August
2008), the Standard Edit Desk brings true user defined working
practices to all operators. |

Desk Structure and
Cable Management Details
- Under the desk top, Mode-AL have devoted
significant time to the cable management and to providing
a superior structure for our edit desk
- Our unique mounting system for screens
allows for fast and easy set up and change over if required,
with screen mounts available for all screen makes and
model numbers
- The screen lifter can lift up to 80kg
(175lbs) and can be configured to take from a single screen
to 6 screens with the fixed position as shown or cantilever
for end user screen positioning as required, with all
power and data cables neatly housed within our cable management
system
- Under the desk top we have a 150mm
(6") cable tray dedicated to excess wiring and for
screen power supplies, mains distribution blocks etc &
also a separate 50mm (2") cable tray to hold the
lifter motor and desk control wiring
- The generous energy chain lifts power
and data cables from the static structure up to the cable
tray, allowing easy cable insertion with its split enclosure
system
- The inside of both legs have removable
covers allowing the power and data coming into the desk
to be raised up to the energy chain, concealed within
the leg
- The twin 60x30 mm desk top support
beams provide an extremely firm and ridged support for
the desk top
- The lower desk frame is stabilised
with a canted 120x30 mm beam also providing a mounting
for the energy chain and mountings for a modesty panel
if required
- The powerful and silent lift motors
are designed to give many years of trouble free life and
automatically re calibrate themselves if there is a power
loss
- Finally we provide ± 10mm (3/8")
of adjustment on our feet, as unfortunately most floors
are not made to our exact standards and we do not want
you to have a wobbly desk.

The CPU shelf and Energy
chain can be reolcated to the other leg with minimal fuss,
or if required a second shelf and energy chain can be ordered,
providing greater flexibility. |
